This was our first trip to the San Diego Zoo. I have always heard that the zoo was large, but I didn't realize that it was in the middle of mountains. We, being new to the zoo, made a few mistakes. The first of which was not taking the bus tour first and instead hiking with our double stroller up an almost verticle mountain to see the giraffes. The kids loved the giraffes, but we passed them by later in the day on our bus tour. We were exhausted, but very glad to see such a wonderful zoo.
