3~Weeks~Old

The girls turned 3-weeks-old last Thursday. These first few weeks of their lives have flown by. I am starting to feel like a normal person again. We spent the first week and a half locked up in my bedroom because the boys were sick. Luckily Jon was not working at the time, so he could take care of the boys and I could take care of the girls. We were lucky and the girls didn't catch the boys colds and croupy coughs. Last week Jon was away on a business trip that couldn't be missed, so I spent the week with the 4 kids. Wow...that was crazy. Jon's mom spent a night with us because I hadn't gotten any sleep the night before. My mom and grandma spent some of the days taking the boys to movies and the Aquarium and leaving me alone with the girls. My mom even let me go get a pedicure. My neighbors have also been helpful in having the boys over in the mornings so that I can sleep or get something done. The week without Jon turned out alright in the end, but I was very glad to have him home. In celebration of his return, I went with some friends to the movie "27 Dresses" late Friday night. It was great to get out.

Everything is going pretty smoothly with our little family. The girls are nursing really well and taking bottles when things get crazy or when I leave for a while. They are getting into a better sleeping cycle and are pretty well tempered for the most part. Kate demands a little more attention than Sophie, but she is still pretty good. So far no major problems, but I will keep you updated. We have had a few little break-downs, such as Sam locking them in my bedroom and me having to take the door handle off to get in, but not anything major. We are pretty blessed.
