Looking Forward to Kindergarten

I am so proud of Jackson. He was behind with speech at the age of 3 (and even earlier), so he has been to a speech pathologist for private lessons regularly since he was about 4. I have had him assessed by the school district every so often in hopes that he will be caught up by kindergarten and today he passed with flying colors. His speech and language skills are on level. He also had an academic assessment and they felt like his academic skills were very impressive. I am so thankful that he has wanted to learn so much over the past year and I feel relieved that he will be ready for kindergarten. I really think that he has had an awsome pre-school experience this year and I am greatful that our prayers have been answered. Now I just need to decide if he should attend the school that the other kids in the neighborhood are going to go to or to a charter school that he was chosen for in the annual lottery.

Good Job Jackson! I would totally put him in the charter school! I have my kids on the waiting list for the one up here but no luck so far... I actually stopped by to tell you thanks for the suggestion on bunkbeds at the Quilt Shop. I went there yesterday and loved it. I bought it and will pick it up this weekend. :)

That is great news. We missed you last night at book club, but understand the hectic schedule you have been keeping up with!

Great news! We actually debated charter vs. public a little at book club. I am just glad I have a few years to decide still.

Way to go Jack! What charter school did he get into? You know my thoughts on it :). Actually, I don't think I will put my kids in a charter school unless I see that the regular neighborhood school isn't cutting it. Charter schools are not hard to get into here.

Bethany (McKee) said she thought she saw you at a kindergarten orientation. That must have been the one?? Her son is Kennedy Freimuth. I can't remember the name of the school.
