First Day of Kindergarten

Today is Jackson's first day of school. It feels like the end of an era. The end of my having complete control over him. Now it is time to let other people in and trust them with my big guy. It feels so weird, but exciting at the same time. I am glad that he went to a good pre-school where he learned a good foundation for what is ahead. He is really excited to learn, hopefully all goes well.

Anyway, he barely caught the bus at 12:10 (it came a little early, so we had to run to catch it). Then I got in my car and went to my friends house who also has a kindergartner. There are about 15 kindergarteners starting school from our neighborhood. Anyhow, I met the bus at some of the other kids bus stop so that I could ride up to the school with my friend to see that they got there all right. Sounds crazy, but almost every kindergartner had a parent to greet them when they arrived at the school. We took pictures and watched them line up outside. They had about 10 minutes before their teacher came out and after naming them one by one, led them into their seats. I then went in the front doors of the school and snapped a picture of him sitting down in class. He seemed to be doing fine...can't wait to greet him when he comes home.
