Sam's First Day

After a year of wondering when his turn would arrive, it is finally here...Sam's first day of pre-school. Having an older brother is so much fun for Sam, however, he has to watch Jack go through all of his "firsts", first day of school, first soccer game, first birthday parties, first best friends, etc. It is hard for him to watch his "best bud" do everything first. I have reassured him for the last year that his turn would come. And, when it did (on Tuesday) he was sick with Strep Throat. So, he had to wait until the second day of pre-school. That was today. Having gone through dropping Jack off and picking him up from the same school he had a lot of confidence and didn't seem scared. I told him that I was a little sad that he was a big boy now and he told me not to worry...I could come and pick him up when school was over. I came at the very last minute to pick him up during his pick up time. This would have scared Jackson as I was always the first parent there when he was in pre-school. Sam told me that he enjoyed every minute of it. He loved the water table at recess and the dump trucks and tractors in the sand box. I am glad that Sam's big day has finally come and gone. It went better than I thought.
