18 Months

Sophie Girl

Kate, mom and Soph

I can't believe that we have reached this milestone. Each milestone in Kate and Sophie's lives brings us a little closer to normal. I never wished for twins, but at the same time I was more excited than worried when I knew we would be having twins. I have always thought that two at a time would be very hard. It has been hard, but I have heard from many mothers of twins that it only gets easier. We are so glad to be out of the infant phase. With each baby I have wished away those early days, with Kate and Soph, I can hardly remember those days. I do remember that we were in survival mode. I am glad to now be able to cherish each moment and keep a record of the new things they are doing. They are two very different little girls. Their personalities compliment one another. Sophie is very worried about Kate and love's to have Kate share in her moments. She is a little stubborn and has had a few temper tantrums. Kate is also very worried about Kate and not a lot about Sophie, but she is a lot of fun and is quite the tease like her daddy. She is content to be with me and sit on my lap. Sophie wants to be down running around. They are so unique and fun. They keep eachother entertained for the most part.

Here are their latest stats from Doctor Schmidt's office:
Kate
weight: 20.5 lbs (5%)
height: 30.08 in (11%)

Sophie
weight: 23.81 lbs (40%)
height: 31.14 (30%)

Kate is quite the eater despite her lighter weight. She is a little more particular about how she eats and is not in a hurry. Sophie eats all of her food in just a few bites. She is built much like I was as a little girl, while Kate has Jon's build. It is really pretty interesting to see their differences and notice them each day. It has been a fun 18 months!

I can't believe they are so old already... and they are looking so different every day. (I didn't know they were both so small for their age).
