We have had a fun, crazy, wonderful and stressful 6 months or so. We are finally in California and are starting to really enjoy it. It was incredibly hard to leave friends and family, however, we feel that this is where we are suppose to be. The kids are adjusting and meeting friends. Most of their friends come from our ward. The ward has been very welcoming and has really helped with our transition. We spend time with friends in the ward 2 to 3 times a week. Once a week they all pack up and go to the beach together. We have enjoyed doing that. The kids absolutely love the beach, but the packing and hauling stuff there and back can be tiring. Once a week is definitely enough.

We have spent a lot of time together as a family. It is a nice time in our lives to just be with each other. We have been to Disneyland several times. We have had visitors, including my aunt Debbie, my mom and my grandparents, Jon's parent, The Roberts from Draper and we met my friend Brit and her kids in Irvine. As a family we have enjoyed going to Disneyland, our neighborhood swimming pool and visiting parks here in Yorba Linda. Parks are a pretty big deal here. Yards are smaller, so people head to the park pretty regularly. Playing is different. Kids don't just run out and play as often as they do in Utah. Most of the time, play is scheduled and people meet at parks, the beach, swimming pools and at each others houses. I spend much more time out and about here. A day at home is welcomed after many days out meeting friends.

The kids are enjoying the sun. It is great to have the sun out in the daytime and then have it cool down in the evening. We experienced our first Earthquake a few weeks ago. It was a 4.2 quake with an epicenter in Yorba Linda. This never happens, but I am convinced with all of my worries, I was just suppose to attack the fear head on and realize that it wasn't so bad. I immediately received a text from my Relief Society President, Dori saying "Welcome to California". Jackson dropped to his knees and prayed for our safety. I laughed because I didn't really think it was an earthquake. Jon was in the car with Sam headed to the store and they didn't even feel it.

Life is different here, but good. It feels a little more like home every day. If we had our family here, I think it would be perfect. Hopefully we will continue to get visitors:)

yay for blog updates! Your house looks awesome! It sounds like you guys are having a ton of fun. I'm glad the kids are making new friends! We sure miss them. It won't be the same going to Utah and not seeing you guys. Liam will especially miss Sophie and Kate. We'll have to find a time to visit you in California. Tucker's never been so we'll definitely have to remedy that. Love you guys! Glad everything's going so well!
