So we have had some recurring germs in my house over the last 6 months. It all started when I noticed Jackson's voice was weird. Jack has always had a hard time enunciating certain letters but in May it seemed to be exaggerated. I was busy with twins so put off thinking about it until I noticed again in June. I looked down his throat and saw two huge tonsils. I made Jon take him to the doctor because I was worried that he couldn't breath with those things in his throat. Insta care was not very worried about the size but did a Strep test which grew positive after a couple of days. Weird to me because he did not have a sore throat. Later that month Sam seemed sick and run down. He perked back up after a couple of days and I didn't worry much...until I got Strep the next week. Where would I get it from? I don't see anyone but my kids. I figured Sam may have had it when he was sick the week before. His doctor took my word for it and put Jack and Sam on an antibiotic. Jack had also complained of a sore throat. All of this was the beginning of 5 Strep infections for Sam and a diagnoses of tonsillitis, sleep apnea, and being a Strep carrier for Jack. Jack is hardly ever sick. He hasn't had one sick day the whole year (He became immune to most viruses by contracting them all his first year of life) but he is carrying Strep around in his throat possibly because of their size. Once he caught that first Strep infection and it hid behind his LARGE tonsils. More importantly he hasn't had a good night of sleep his whole life. This may be due to sleep apnea.
SOOOO...he had his tonsils and adenoids removed today by our awesome ENT David Hill. He is great with kids and adults and made me feel a lot better about putting my little, big guy under. I was very nervous up until I saw him in the recovery room. He also built up some anxiety over the course of the morning. He knew what was happening but dreaded the awful good by when he went with the doctors and we went to the waiting room. He rode in a toy car with the doctors where Doc Hill gave him a "droid" mask (as all Star Wars fans might call it) and he went to sleep. Everything went perfectly. We are so thankful. I hope the recovery goes as smoothly.
As for Sam. Jacks tonsils being removed just might be his cure. Only time will tell.

How scary! I am glad everything went well. Hopefully that will be the end of sickness for you.
Oh, Tara! I hope he is alright, that is so crazy...I am glad everything went well, hope everyone is feeling better now :)
So happy everything seemed to go well! Same thing happened in my family, my brother was a carrier and had his tonsils out, and then we were all fine afterwards. Hopefully Sam will be fine now too.
